Story Behind The Book
They say every person is a story, and how true! But when I look at my life, I see a whole series there! For the love of me is but one episode from my series but indeed a life changing one.
All the heartache that I went through as a child and as a young adult, I later realized were symptoms of severe low self esteem. It took me all of 4 years and guidance from counselors, some friends, books and philosophers to start to finally love and respect myself. What a relief it was.
Over the last twenty years I have come across hundreds of individuals in various age group who suffer from relationship, emotional and career related issues that can be traced back to their low self- esteem.
Spencer, the Protagonist of ‘For the love of ME” was born out of the acute realization that when it came to life, and survival issues, almost all of us are sailing in the same boat. We all suffer on account of our and other people’s complexes that act rather strongly at subconscious level.
Getting in touch with yourself while working with a guide or a counselor can take us to the beautiful place inside us that is rarely affected by the negativities and challenges around. This wonderful experience propelled me to get this fact out to people so that many more can experience the bliss of discovering one self that I have experienced.
Though the book is a work of fiction but the experience of walking with Spencer has been emotional. I could not help but feel some of my pain once again and yet this time I knew there is hope at the end of the tunnel and hence I could feel an unknown force that pushed me to write through the tunnel of pain and come out where the light was the brightest. May be because of how close I feel to Spencer, I feel that for the most part the book almost wrote itself. Words flowed on the computer screen as if they were in a hurry to be printed.
